Is Car Restoration For You And Your Favourite Classic Car?

Have you ever fancied car restoration? Restoring your favourite classic car can be very rewarding and satisfying and leaves you with a great sense of achievement and enjoyment(there's nothing more satisfying then going out on your first drive usually to the MOT centre in a car you have just finished rebuilding). I have been involved in the motor trade now since my early teens and in the late eighties when i worked in a breakers yard for a family friend during school holidays and weekends where i learned a lot about cars. This is also how i became a fan of old cars and repairing them(before then it was pushbikes and motorbikes and it used to send my mum mad all the bikes in bits all over the place so i have always had a love for all things mechanical). I saw a lot of what are now considered classic cars broken down for parts and scrapped (If I'd known then what I know now).

After leaving school I went to college and did a mechanics apprenticeship in a main dealers and have worked in various aspects of the trade including working on the restoration of MGB's, Midget's and Morris Minor's and a few others. Also spending a short stint building Ford Model A replica kit cars. I am currently working in an independent garage running the sevice and MOT centre. So my restoring has become a hobby at home that I thoroughly enjoy(although it does send the missus crazy and im always in bother).

Now everyone knows me and what i'm about. This site is dedicated to classic and retro 80's cars and the restoration of them. Things like what tools you need, what car shows are on and where, tips and techniques, my restoration projects and yours. Blogs for us to discuss car restoration and get help from other restoring nuts.
